The future of Barcelona’s midfielder, Frenkie De Jong is still uncertain at the Catalonia club with just one month to the end of the transfer window.
The manager of the club, Xavi Hernandez was speaking at an interview where he was asked about the future of the Dutchman. Xavi did not give an outright answer to whether the player will stay or leave the club but believes there is a lot of time for a decision to be made.
I don’t know if he’s going to stay here. I have never sent Frenkie a message. There’s still time and a lot of things can still happen.
He also spoke about his decision to play the player out of position in the pre-season game against Juventus. According to him, that decision does not indicate that De Jong will leave the club.
The fact that he played as a central defender in the other games was not a sign that he was leaving.
De Jong has been on the radar of Manchester United since the appointment of Erik Ten Hag but the player has remained adamant that he wants to stay in Barcelona.
