The proposed transfer move of Chelsea defender, Marcos Alonso to the La Liga to join Barcelona might not happen this transfer window.

The Catalonia club as known by a lot of football supporters are currently facing a financial crisis and finding it difficult to register their already signed players. Barcelona had to activate four levers which saw them sell part of their finances and allowed them to register some players before the season started.

Barcelona have shown interest in signing Alonso, the player already agreed on a three-year deal which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2025. However, the Spaniard might not see his wish come through if they can not register Jules Kounde who was signed from Sevilla.

The feasible option for Barcelona to sign Alonso and register Kounde is to sell some of its players which will ease off the pressure on the club’s wages. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Frenkie De Jong has been linked away from the club but the latter is keen on seeing out the rest of his contract with Barcelona.
