Argentine striker Julian Alvarez received congratulations from Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola after his team, the Albiceleste, won the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar (Sky Blue).
Alvarez was essential to Argentina’s third FIFA World Cup victory on Sunday.
Alvarez’s assistance to the Argentines throughout the competition impressed Guardiola.
Guardiola was reported by talkSPORT as stating, “We are really delighted for him (Alvarez) -Congrats to him, for Otamendi of course, personally for Lionel Messi and Argentina as a country; a well deserved champion.”
“For Julian, we are thrilled because he played frequently and made an incredible contribution to his team’s performance. Our team includes a world champion.
“For Julian, we are delighted because he played a lot and his contribution was amazing for his team, for the way they played. We have a World champion in our team.”
Alvarez played all seven games for Albiceleste at Qatar 2022 scoring four goals in the process.
He has scored three times in 12 Premier League games for Manchester City this season so far.
The Argentines claimed the FIFA World Cup trophy after a 4-2 win over Les Bleus (The Blues) of France on penalty kicks after a 3-3 stalemate.
