President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR has commended the Kaduna State Government’s FREE CNG mass transit programme under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, CON describing the initiative as an example of the kind of intervention needed at the subnational level.
In a post on his official X account, President Tinubu specifically highlighted Kaduna’s deployment of 100 CNG-powered buses, which carried approximately 3.2 million passengers in their first year of operation, saving commuters more than ₦3.5 billion in transportation costs. Kaduna is currently the only state in Nigeria operating a free CNG mass transit programme of this nature.
The presidential recognition underscores the significance of Kaduna’s CNG mass transit programme as part of Governor Uba Sani’s broader efforts to deliver practical interventions that directly improve the welfare and living standards of residents.
