Following his impressive performance in Friday’s third-place play-off against Tunisia at the U-20 AFCON, Confederation of African Football (CAF) has described Flying Eagles forward Jude Sunday as a rising star.
Sunday, who made his tournament debut against Tunisia, scored twice as the Flying Eagles won 4-0.
He scored the Flying Eagles’ third goal after dribbling past two Tunisians and striking with his left foot.
Sunday completed his hat trick and the Flying Eagles’ fourth late in the game with a spectacular volley into the roof of the net.
In response to Sunday’s performance, CAF wrote on their U-20 AFCON Twitter account, “WHAT A PLAYER! WHAT A SHOWCASE!
“Two stunning goals, TotalEnergies Man of the Match 👏.
“Jude Sunday is a star in the making 💫.”
The Flying Eagles and Tunisia have already qualified for this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the final of the U-20 AFCON will hold today, Saturday, March 11, between Senegal and Gambia.
